Fire Investigation Article

Personal injury fraud, where people file fake claims for injuries, happens a lot more than you might think. Take for instance Arson Investigators This is why you would need a good security company that has personal injury fraud investigators on board.

Personal injury fraud involves people handing in false claims for injuries they did not receive, or having a minor injury but blowing it up out of proportion. This of course is just wrong and is a serious crime. There are two types of fraud that may be attempted – one where the fraud was planned and the other when a situation presented itself as being viable to defraud an insurance company. Just as shocking is Drug Awareness which you can read about.

There are many examples of insurance fraud and they may involve a home aide worker exaggerating a slip and fall injury on the client’s premises. Another example is a person who is legitimately injured, but who over exaggerates the actual extent of the injury and/or the recovery time involved. You may have heard another expression in relation to this type of claim or person – malingering or malingerer. Many times the person who is filing a fake claim wants to stay home and get paid by the insurance company. Insurance companies aren’t the only people who wind up losing money on fake insurance claims. It is also the extra, and unnecessary medical exams and tests that rack up the costs of claims like this. This in turn means we pay out more in taxes. That’s it, I’m officially packing and getting the airplane tickets to go on my Cape Town Holiday lol

Premeditated fake claims mean the person behind filing the insurance fraud has spent a lot of time thinking how to make the most of the planned accident. For instance, deliberately causing a collision, or slipping and falling down stairs then putting in for insurance for a nonexistent injury. The sad thing is that when people try to cause accidents, oft times things can go wrong and cause really serious injuries. If you weren’t aware of it before, you will be now when you read that there are actually things called personal injury mills who make it their livelihood to stage accidents and file fake claims. The false reports filed for the people who agreed to “act” as injured victims will come back to haunt them later.
